Baby Shower Gift Ideas

Choosing a gift for a baby shower can go two ways - a) its really easy or b) it's really hard!

There are many things to take into consideration; gender of the baby, do you know the new parents well enough to know what they would like, budget, taste (because let's face it - we all have different taste!)

So I've written a few baby shower gift ideas to try and make choosing and buying a gift slightly easier.

How well do you know the new parents?

If you don't know the parents to be very well then my advice would be to play it safe, everyones taste varies and I know my love of frilly ott outfits for my girls wasn't to everyones taste - but hey ho they were my babies so I dressed them how I wanted to.

A cute outfit or cardigan, it helps if you know the gender but if not play it safe with neutral colours - white or beige.

Do you want to make it sentimental?

A sentimental gift, is normally kept forever!

Personalised sentimental baby gifts are thoughtful and will likely one day become a memory for the receiptant of when their tiny newborn was born.

If you're going with a personalised gift, make sure the babies name is definitely what the parents are going with and double check spelling - or play it safe and go with babies surname, or even safer "born in 2026"

What if you don't know the gender?

If the gender of the baby isn't known or is a surprise, neutral colours / theme is the way forward. Before I knew my girls were girls I excitedly bought unisex outfits, but once I knew they were girls I didn't put them in them - they were plain boring and the cute alternatives were way nicer. Play it safe, a cute hat and booties are always a good option!
